Course Description
In this language-neutral, three-hour course you will learn how to strengthen your note taking skills through strategies and techniques designed to help you to create an easy-to-use and reliable system of notes that incorporates proper layout, symbols and abbreviations. This course is for interpreters of all levels. We will work on the skills needed to provide accurate consecutive for medical, court, community and conference interpreting.
About the Instructor
Javier Castillo, Jr., is an interpreter, translator, consultant and internationally recognized speaker. He is a Federally Certified Court Interpreter, NC AOC certified court interpreter, a Certified Medical Interpreter, (CCHI) and contract interpreter for the U.S. Department of State and routinely interprets for international delegations and high-level speakers across the United States and abroad. Since 2007, Javier has offered training workshops for court, medical, conference and community interpreters across the United States. Javier is the president of the Carolina Association of Translators and Interpreters and the Head of the U.S. Chapter of the International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters.
