This 40-hour language-neutral intensive Healthcare Interpreting course reflects the current interpreter profession, including standards and procedures, and gives beginning interpreters the correct tools to begin their careers. This course qualifies as the minimum requirements for Healthcare Interpreter National Certification.

Tracy Young is a registered nurse and accomplished certified medical interpreter. She is an interpreter trainer, presenter, and long-time advocate of the profession. Tracy is the Language Access Services coordinator at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, California. Tracy holds a master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Nevada, Reno and is the founding president of NITA.

Requirements: Language Proficiency Test. If you are currently a Federal or State Court Certified Interpreter, you are not required to take the Language Proficiency Test [LPT].
